The Coin and Medal Collection

The museum’s numismatics cabinet houses some 100,000 objects, including bank notes, securities, credit cards and dies in addition to coins and medals. Its timeline runs from Celtic coinage to currently valid tender, both metal and paper. The museum is the only institution that systematically collects coins from all across Switzerland.
