Decorative Textiles and Costumes
Packing a decorative textile
The conservation of decorative textiles and costumes
requires a very special approach, not only because they are often in poor
condition due to use, but also on account of their complex structure and the
particular materials and processes used in their composition. In addition,
bleaching, mould, and insects have over the years damaged the objects in this
group and left them brittle and unstable, for
which reason special measures must be taken when they are lent and exhibited.
